I move my bishop back 1 square, still eyeing F7 to protect from an undefendable rook/king fork. Am I missing something?
It is a difficult move. 7 Bb3 protects c2 but 7 d4 also protects c2 and helps your development.
I use Extreme Chess (Fritz). (Can't use it beyond Windows XP.)
I set the "resolution" to ¼ a pawn (0.25).
If the computer can't find something ¼ a pawn a pawn better, I'm not interested.
Chess is a whole game. Nit picking over teeny tiny details is not productive.
Those little inaccuracies slowly add up though when you can go from 0.25 to -2 without even knowing how.
