Analysis Tutorial

Is there anywhere that will tell me what all the buttons do when analyzing a game?  Or if it says, that's not the best move, how can I find out what I should have done.  I click "show moves" but then it plays out like 10 moves...  I just need to know what the buttons do and how to use chess.com to analyze my game.  Anyone know of a YT video or something?

Thanks

Joe

I think you may only get one free "review" unless you are a subscriber. But that's what it's called, "Review Game". I use it a lot it's a nice feature. Let me know if you have specific questions.

You should click on the "Analysis" button, that will take you to actual engine analysis. There you can see the top 3 moves with evaluation, and more importantly, you can try any move in any position, go back and forth, as you wish.

The "Game review" interface is completely useless and bad. Use "Analysis" instead.

When I press "Analysis" I see three rows of moves.

How does one use this ?

Thepasswordis1234

the first one is the best

second is the second best (and sometimes alternative)

third is the third best (if you have 5 lines instead of 3, it will go until 5)

and if it suggests less than 3 moves (or 5), that means that there is only a few legal moves

You can make any move on the board and see what the engine thinks.
