Well, only a pawn, is not only a pawn. You lost king pawn, and your King is naked after move 10. Pawn is only a pawn when you gambit and gain tempo and attack for the pawn.
Someone sad that bad plan is better than no plan. You can't just develope in sake of developing. You must have some idea why you placed bishop on e7. Why Knight here and not there. Start planing from move 1.
Thanks for the advice Paul yeah the purpose of the move was just get it more active,and you did point out some good alternative moves.
I just didn't want to play h6 because I didn't want to leave a hole in the pawn wall in front of my King it just a phobia ,sometimes it can lead disaster.
Yes I have been studying openings and memorising the moves,now I wish to understand more the principles behind the openings ,like which squares are critical? Whether light or dark square bishops are more important?
Well, which bishop is more important depends on the opening. In this opening, it looks like here your dark squared bishop has more freedom of movement, and your light bishop spends a long time being trapped behind the pawns. But it varies from opening to opening.
Sometimes a hole in the pawn wall can be good, (prevents back rank mates, for one thing!) but I understand the feeling- I have my own peculiarities.
It looks like after winning the initial pawn, he was going to attack queenside- that not working, he just simplified and was able to win a knight tactically. After that, he just simplified into the endgame. I can understand the desire to activate the dormant light squared bishop, but Bf5 just allowed him to trade bishops with you, and trading material when you're behind isn't a good idea.
