4. Bg5 has no threat or purpose. You were better off with Bg2 and 0-0. And preparing for counter-play with c4, etc.

6. Bf4 costs you time. Losing time is a subtle positional factor, but you must be aware of it during your game. By attacking your bishop a second time (g5), black gains more space and, if black were to castle 0-0-0, his attack on your kingside has already started.

9. a3 is a failure to see a tactic. Clearly the knight is not intending to stay on b4 for long, so a3 is another wasted move. Better was Rac1.

I would've played:

6. Bxf6

9. Rc1 or simply 8. c3

and why wouldn't you expect the queen trade?? He's playing an endgame with a Rook vs. your weak-colored bishop as well as a 3-pawn advantage; of course he's trade, taking away your last bit of power.

You should've resigned after the queen-trade, maybe ever before...

i think your opening is horrible for one.  4. Bg5 was totally useless and then 6. bf4 was even worse.  your bishope had no business there.  not the end of the world but certainly aided in yout demise.--if you ask me.  also when you opponent played 8. Nb4 you should have seen the fork.  pretty simple.  i know they are easy to miss.  i miss way too many myself, but the white bishop might as well have whistled at you perched up there at f5.  you got duped by a cheap move.  sorry.  what rating was this guy?  i also think letting your oppenent play 13. Nxe5 was a mistake as well.  this move ruined what pawn structure you had in the middle and gave him more advantage in a game he was already clearly winning.  there are more holes in this game.  trading pawns at 15 was bad too.  why are you getting rid of material and opening up files when you're already losing?  i have a hard time believing you're a 1500 player.  was this like a 2 minute game?  this cannot be online chess... can it?

Thanks for your comments. Im no where near a 1500 player. Because im new to chess the rating has not been established yet.

Im still trying to learn different oppenings

It's really not about memorizing openings. Look at your board position after 5 moves. The idea behind fianchettoing the king's bishop is to take control of the a8-h1 diagonal. So all of your moves should center around that one strategy. Like, for example, Bg5. Bg5 is a good move in a game like this because the f6 knight is one of the defenders of the central white squares. But in your game it is done prematurely. There is no pin on the queen. And before Bg5, you should be prepared to trade right away, because h6 is inevitable.
