Hi guys,

I am having trouble gathering information on the Anti-english (sicillian) attack. I think that is what it is called, but I'm not really sure. This is what it looks like:

Do you think it is worth playing, or do you think I should stick to main line?

Why not, it's playable but as i see it and from my experience at my and your elo there is no need for this , cos white will most of the time ( 90% ) castle king side vs sicilian or if he goes for english attack he will most likely make a mistake and u will fork his queen and bishop and that is the end of white attack.

This variation has always been my least favorite to deal with as white. It has good surprise value, but is also very sound objectively. If I remember correctly, even Kasparov tried it. It leads to a normal-looking Najdorf position with some interesting twists.

6... Ng4 actually has kind of equal mainline status together with 6... e5/e6. I think most top Najdorf experts have at least tried that move (Kasparov has certainly played it more than once). I believe it should be quite good choice; certainly much more practical than 6... e6 where there are incredible amount of sharp lines to be familarized with.

P.S. One think worth noting is that after 7. Bc1 most black players seem to prefer 7... Nf6 so that's something to think about if draw is out of the question.
