Any comments?

Too bad for Mr. Opposing. He will think about that one for a long time.

Anatoly_Sergievsky

First off, it's always nice to win. Congrats.

However, after Qd5 it's not *necessarily* 2 moves from checkmate- he could've played Qe7.

Not trying to detract from the really fast mate though, how could you be disappointed with such a quick win?

EternalChess

Very nice game, As said above Qe7 couldav been played, easily preventing anything..

and what do you mean 15 minutes through your clock? Do you mean you spent 15 minutes or what? 15 Minutes is alot of time spent in the opening stage, i rarely ever spend no more then 30 seconds in the first 5-10 moves.

slamsam1221

well yes, while winning is great, I would've prefered to win a substantial game. Before, I meant 2 moves from checkmate if he didn't do anything about it, sorry for that. And yeah, I spend a lot of time on my moves, but I accidently typed "my" instead of "the". My bad. In our district tournaments, each player is allotted  70 minutes, so idk, I guess it was a slow opening

A-2 = Second best in the school. Ranks A-1 through A-5 are considered "Varsity". B-1 through B-5 are "Junior Varsity"

EternalChess

To be honest.. this guy isnt any good? He should be like a Z-100

Nytik

Don't take this the wrong way, but your school probably isn't the strongest in the area... What age does Highschool cover? Is it 14-18?

EternalChess

yeah its 14-18, my best player is 1900 CFC rated, im pretty sure he would be an "A" player, i never saw an "A" player lose so easily...

Doesn't 6....c6 win a piece for black?

A piece for two pawns, I believe.

would depend on how white responded.  It could in fact be an actual free piece(with something horrible like q-b4)

Well, sure, but you usually presume perfect play when calculating tactics.

erikido23

oh and I just saw he did comment on it in his notes.  I guess it pays to read the comments ;D

Kupov3

3. f6, is a move I used to see and play a lot... a long time ago.

Yeah, I don't think "winning" the 2 pawns is really all that much better(my gut tells it is may actually be worst without calculating anything out with only 2 squares to go to for the white queen after b-d7, both of which look pretty horrid)

slamsam1221

yeah after checking out variations for black 6. c6, I realized I did a pretty lousy opening haha

DOn't worry about it...you got away with it and now have another pattern which you will recognize pretty easily :D

slamsam1221
