Oh, I think I can answer the question about the difference between the kid and this position with e5.
In the kid the e5 push is beneficial when there is another pawn that replaces the e5 pawn(generally the f4 pawn) which forces the f6 knight to retreat to a poor square.
I think his question was: why should black play e5 in the KID and not here?
Okay, That is a pretty good question. If that is what is being asked- In the KID from a purely philisophical stance-white has tried staking out a large center. In that case you want him to clarify his intentions in the center before you initiate your kingside play and generally the d5 hole isn't bad for you(in the kid lots of times the "hole" has a white pawn on it because after e5 they respond d5.)
In this case e5 does create a hole on d5. Which was indicated isn't all that bad for you by an earlier poster(quoting fritz). It feels slightly counterintuitive to me to play e5 because of that d5 square. But, maybe it is alright. I am sure I probably confused you more than I helped you because I just confused myself lol.
