I managed to draw this tragic game by stalemate. I thought I was doing fairly well in the beginning but it all fell apart.  I want to try to improve my game. Any advice or feedback is greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance :-)

This was a 30|30 game

After 17... Bb6 I think it made more sense to move the other rook since you just move that rook to there, and you block the rook in the f1 square.

After 24...Nd5 it made more sense to move your bishop directly to the e5 square and not waste a move bringing it back to g3.

After 27...Re8, Re1 is definetly a better move than Re3. (Maybe the first mistake.)

After 29...Rxe5 you should gave support to the past pawn before pushing it.

After 30...Rd5, Rd1 is a big blunder (I think the game is lost at this point).

After 34...Rh5, g4 was a good idea but you had to protect the h pawn before.

After 35...Rxh3 playing Kg2 is another inaccuracie.

After 39...Rd6 taking the pawn with your knight is taking away your only possibility to win. (If you had it).

You were doing well until the 27th move. You were very lucky to draw that game.

You need to do more of those chess problems, like daily chess puzzle (esp on a sunday at your level!) I won't look at your opening moves, I know stuff all about opening theory unless its the English opening or modern defence, but there were plenty of hung pieces. On move 17 for example, you could have taken the d4 bishop, 28 Re3 was a bad move, his knight was hanging! 31 wasn't any better!

I'd say you did really well until the 16th move, and then it went downhill

Looking at strategy is probably a little high for your level, right now you need to get the blunder out your game, that should get you to a 1000 rating. Once there, then look at how you can combine 2,3 or 4 pieces in to an attack. Like from move 19, the pawn in enemy territory can be an excellent anchor for a knight, bishop, or this game even a rook

here is a game that might help illistrate some of the points above, it will also give some insight into a decent thought process, Not a great or even good one but enough to boost you from being rated 600

I find the trouble with chess puzzles is they always put you in a position that only an experieneced player would find themselves in.  I've done dozens of daily chess problems but I think its the decisive bit in mid-game (and outright bluders) that make me lose so much.
