Beginner Having Trouble Planning Attacks
As everyone will tell you, tactics are important... I have created a few tactical puzzles from your game see if you can solve them!
planing in chess is something that will come with experience, but at your level the best thing you can do is make sure you never miss a tactical opportunity!
Tactics is bedrock of all and any chess plans.
here are some comments on the game itself.
You're better off playing 3.Nc3 than 3.d3. It will serve the same purpose as d3, but you get to develop the knight.
Also, watch out for the situation at 7. .. f5. If you retreat the bishop on that side, (this happens a lot) you'll want to play 8.h3 to give him a place to move back into. Other than that, I don't think there was anything wrong with your attack. Good job!
In game 1, I think you missed a tactical shot: after 5 ...g5 6. Nxg5 fxg5 7. Qh5+ Ke7 8. Bxg5+ Nf6 9. Qh4 Bg7 10. e5
(I seem to have stumbled onto the puzzle! Though I missed the earlier e5 push. Still, it's the looming cheapo sac to get the Q to the h file that jumped out to me in half a second of seeing the position...it's a classic)
Oh, and since Black didn't put ANY pressure on the center on move 1, white could push the issue and play 2. d4 to occupy the whole center and start cramping black's counterplay.
Although I didn't look at the game in any detail, in regards to your comment about not having a plan and just kind of playing move to move looking for tactical opportunities, I would strongly recommend the book Logical Chess Move by Move by Chernev. It is a classic, written something like 50 years ago, and still extreemly useful. It takes 33 master games and goes over them move by move, explaining each move for both side. The annotations are for novice to strong novice level players. I am working through it right now, and its a massive eye opener.
Having said that, never stop working on tactics one way or another. Do puzzles and problems, study tactics books, something. If the tactical skills are not there no other preparation will come to fruition.

Regarding Jokerman's advice i would disagree with 90% of it.
1) I dont think Bullet chess has anything to do with planning. Bullet is about how 'intuitive' you are. I.e. it is how well you can play chess without thinking. any 'plan' you come up with will be basic.
2) getting to 2000 bullet is not something that can be achieved quickly. Playing bullet well requires (a) speed, and (b) positional understanding. The latter of which takes many hours of playing chess at longer time controls to develop.
3) I float between 19-2100 bullet rating here, and in my games, I'll hang pieces frequently. thus i dont think bullet is a good way of learning to avoid hanging peices.
Telling someone that bullet games will help with plan development is delusional. The only thing you can "learn" from bullet is how fast you can click a mouse. If you are lower-rated and/or a beginner, you need to take time to plan and look at the position. The faster the chess, the more worthless as a learning device.
I tend to agree. The value of bullet/blitz is mostly entertainment. Some people find it fun, and that's fine, but I don't think it has significant training value. To improve at chess you do want to play as much as you can, but play longer time controls, like G25 or longer, so you actually have some time think about what you are doing and try to deepen your understanding. Very fast time controls might be fun, but they won't help you get better. Some tactical problems, a good novice book, and some longer time controls will.
P.S. Jokerman, do you have something against the letter "h"? The words what and that both contain one. If you are going to write a blog as you mentioned you might try to get a grip on spelling one syllable words and not using numbers in the place of letters.
I suspect the crummy spelling and number-words indicate that our jokerman13 is a kid. The grammar and spelling on his home page are attrocious.
Attacks shouldn't be planned, they should be prepared by activating all dormant pieces first (some people call it development)
Btw I hate attrocious spelling as well
im dissapointed tat all u guys here. disslike my amount of spelling mistakes N grammer mistakes 2 be honest with u guys i never realy exceled very well with grammer. i never liked grammer infact. I hated words...N all that but i do like math. I really don't mean to be too much of a stickler on this point, but a lot of what you write is difficult to understand easily. This violates the basic point of written communication: that someone else can pick it up and read it, decode the text and understand what was meant.
Strings of rebuses and words like "innauraties" can detract from whatever it is you are trying to get across. You may have something to say, but if people are left wondering what you are saying and laughing at your efforts, it is all in vain.
And what does "guz..." mean?
I hadn't even read anything of this thread before I made the atrocious comment. I did that just to echo your apparent joke
I really don't mean to be too much of a stickler on this point, but a lot of what you write is difficult to understand easily.
And it is easy to understand difficultly.
