Hi Guys,
I'm very new at chess and although i know some basics I'm hoping you could  analyse my game for me!
I played as Black, and even though i won this game it was quite difficult, i struggled and it took forever, i was hoping you guys could show me a better way capitalize on my opponents mistakes and minimise mine!
maybe explain some strategical concepts to me!
I've tried to annotate as best i could, to explain my thoughs and ideas, and was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction?
Thanks a Lot!

Ill try to help with the little I know.

Golden rule for openings expecially if you do not know the "book moves" develop you pieces as fast as possible, first the nights then the Bishops and after that you castle, move 4 Na5 was agains't this principle first you should finish your development and then make your plan.

Move 5 Bd6 also not very good because this is blocking your d6 pawn and you need that pawn to hold the center, I guess the best move order would be to play d6 followed by Be7

About the move Nxc4 It was the logical move now because of the badly placed Bishop.

0-0 on move 7 with white attack going strong seems crazy because of the Bd6 your game would be so much better with d6 instead but its still fine, good instincts to castle anyway its better than keeping the K in the middle.

Now you find a good plan to develop your white bishop with b7 but then your opponent pins your N with Bg5 and you move your Bishop backwards to e7 loosing 1 tempo but still was the rigth move to do there.

Move 12 Bg5 is fine and you have attacking ideas behind it those are always good.

13 c5 does not open the game actually it could close it.

move 20 you still had Bd2 but you found a nice tactic before and you are already material up so who cares :)

On move 24+- you found a plan to trade queens and made it, it was a good defensive maneuver but the best defense is a strong offense your rook belongs to the second rank my plan would have been to play Rc2 and attack the pinned piece keeping the Q as a great offensive piece.

move 27 g6 I dont like this move what was your idea here? in this kind of endgames activity is the key to success

You made the rigth choince in entering the endgame now its an easy and clear victory.

Opposition dosen't really count when you have 3 pawns against the lonely king :) just push them and avoid stalemates promote to rooks :)

On the overall you played way above the 1100 elo, the only 1100 move on the game was the Bd6 in the opening and even in that one you had the rigth idea to develop pieces and castle so just keep playing more and more games to improve and you will have 2000+ in no time!

Thanks for all your help mate!

I'll definitely put all your advice to good use!

in regards to move 27 g6.   I was planning to put my rook on e8.  I didn't calculate enough and didn't want to fall victim to a back rank mate...

Thanks again for your swift response!

If there's anything else you can think of that will help me out don't hesitate to fill me in!

Don't worry so much about openings, there are a few traps and you will learn to avoid them.

Study endgames.

Learn basic tactics such as the pin, the fork and the skewer.

Learn basics; attacked twice, defended twice = safe.

See you out there.

Have fun, learn to lose and learn.
