Blindfold game

This is my first full blindfold game, and it ended in the draw. I missed a few chances to get ahead. Any tips for playing blindfold chess? Here is the game

I used to play Blindfolded simuls when I coach, and my only advise would be to concentrate in having the position pictured in your head..

Yeah my biggest problem is that I know where all the pieces are except I get the colors on the squares confused and so visualizing the movement of the pieces is hard, perhaps I need to memorize the board

That's impressive. Did you at any point have trouble remembering where your opponents pieces were at?

I think it is harder rembering where the pieces can go then where that actually are. Rembering the single square the piece sits on is much easier then the dozen squared it covers

Good job. How much time did you use for this game (your time, not your opponent's) ?

ChessinBlackandWhite

Maybe 30 min or so each, no clock though

but isnt the same as looking at the page?

Why did you take the draw? White is a pawn up with the initiative after the bishop retreats.

because as I mentioned I was having trouble keeping the colors of the squares straight, so i did not want to go into a queen bishop endgame, I am not confident enough to play endgames in my head yet
