I'm looking through my past losses to see how I can improve. Can someone give me a few pointers on what I could have done better in this game?

10.bxe6 is a blunder.  22.bf4 is also a blunder. the best move was qd6.

I see... I'm not very good at openings, so I'm not surprised that I blundered on move 10. Could you tell me what I should have played instead?

Also, how exactly is 22. Qd6 better than bf4?

2.Nf3 ---- crap

3. Bc4 ---- crap, turn off the autopilot, there is no pawn on e5

4. Nc3 ------crappppp, why are you so humble?

The rest of the game gave me cancer, cant comment on that crap without losing brain cells.

Oh, so that's what the teletubbies were saying all that time. I never could understand them.

At least in the Spanish version they usually said it.

buddy he played a good game just a few blunders.  No reason to criticize the good moves that he made.

Thanks for stickng up for me!

Bronstein, do you have some constructive criticism that would help me. As I've already noted, I realize that I'm not very good at openings. Is that mainly where I went wrong in this game? And what specifically should I have done differently?

23.Bxe5 is an easy one.

24.Rd5 is another.

It's a troll game in any case.

Open a book, read, stop playing the computer.

You will become a GM in a month.

3.Bc4 is not good because d5 can be played with tempo. Same reason e.g. 1.e4 c5 2.Bc4 is not played by strong players.

But isn't taking a rook better than taking a knight, since a rook is worth 5 points and a knight only 3?

Also, do you gusy think I would have done better in that game if I had played 1. d4 instead? I'm thinking about switching up my openings.

Worst part is this is not sarcasm.

Send a message to this guy. He's pretty nice and his blitz rating is 1786 so he'll be able to help you out:

You faced a strong opposition, maybe you should try to be matched up with opponents rated say, 100 points below abazyan. Also, why did you resigned? You could still have fought for the draw, or even for the win with your remaining pawn.

I would have liked to do that, but I ran out of time at the end. If I had enough time though, what do you think would have been the best way for me to go about playing for a draw or win?

Are you saying then I should have asked for advice on this game in one of my eisting threads? If so, which thread would that be?

THANK YOU!!! A complicated game like this one really needs detailed analysis, and yours is very thorough indeed!

Avatar of AussieMatey

You played the opening well - nearly all your pieces developed against none.

Try not to blunder pieces, as you did with your Queen and Bishop.

Don't swap pieces for no reason.

Look for piece blunders from your opponents.
