Can White Win?
That's it! Both Prodigy & RichardHayden are correct. It took a lot of guts for me not to resign... I saw that the trick was to see that the White Queen can get to d8 before I promote. I was lucky that my opponent didn't see that far.
RichardHayden, I saw the mate and it was disheartening to say the least.
The Knight has to take on e7 with check, (I presume that's what you meant). Otherwise, I will promote my pawn to Queen and it won't be pretty!
Ha! Just trying to be good!
I should say it pays to see a few moves ahead, that way when you offer a draw, it doesn't seem like you are running away from a mate in 1.
Here's another solution, not sure if its been mentioned. Tell me if this is wrong
Sorry about the first 38 moves, im new and dont know how to remove them. anyway, does this work?
Aslan, yes, that's one variation, but I was not going to go to play 39...Kf8. It loses too quickly. I would have gone to h8 and hope for the game to end the way it did! Of course, White should not play 40.Nf7+ as I would take the Knight with my Rook...
Howlingbanshee, I will remember to not do any draws with you. I will play to win!![]()
This game was "Drawn by Agreement" a few minutes ago. I offered a draw because...
Can you see the win for White?
