This is a game I played, and lost. Can you please help me understand where I did wrong etc.

I love Caro-Kann with black. Usually I try to avoid 4..e6 as it locks in my bishop, instead I suggest 3. Qc7 and later on g6 - more in the spirit of the opening. 9.... Ne4 mistake. Puts you into an awkward position. Instead dc4 would have been about equal. 13. ... e3 looks tricky, but against a better oponent I would suggest Qf6. 15. Why didn't you play Nd4 - would have put you into big advantage. I consider Qd4 way worse... and in move 17 you should have taken the pawn - Rd8??? no sense.

Yeah the 15 Nd4 would have been much better, but I didn't look the board very good, and thought white can take my pawn. Now I see it would be a mistake because of Nxe2.  Thanks anyways

no problem :)

Ne4 was a mistake doubling your pawns and trading your good bishop ( strategically )

10.. i think Qxe7 was better in my opinion,

just few notes that would help you in your chess:-

1..black's first objective is to equalize white,,

2..don't force things in all your games, remember the good player who improves his position,,

Hi there!

This is a very complicated game.

15...Qd4 is a big mistake as after 16. Rad1 you help White develop

To start with 15...Nd4!? looks very interesting as after 16.Qxb6 Nxe2!+ and 17...axb you win material
