I am serious I think chess must be updated
You seriously need to upgrade your chess skills
I am serious I think chess must be updated
You want a game that has been around for many years to be changed just for you? Chess isn't like some mobile game that gets updated every month accept that
Try not to move your g2 pawn when CASTLEING kingside if you do that your opponents chances to checkmate are higher
The best part of the game is the last few moves.
With 17. - Nxd5, black threatens mate. White ignores it with Qd3, allowing mate in 2, and black misses it. Now white defends against mate (Bd2). Now black makes a horrible blunder (19. - Re8) which just loses a piece to 20. Rxe8 Qxe8 21. Qxd5. But instead of winning a piece, white plays the worst move on the board, allowing mate-in-2 again. It's rare to see so many blunders in so few moves.
It's safe to say that castling had nothing to do with the outcome of the game.
Castling wasn't the problem, as many here have pointed out; not dealing with an obvious tactical weakness/threat to your kings post-castled position on the open g-file was. Is it possible that you simply failed to notice that you needed to take action about your kings open position? If so, that's a board vision, awareness issue not a castling issue. On a positive note, you did create threats vs your opponents castled position and kept maneuvering to ensure you kept the best pieces on the board, and with the exception of your own kings castled position avoided any major mistakes, so there were a lot of good things in your game.
The O.P. is right. After his 4...Nge7? and some 5.Ng5! castling would be suicidal, and he would have to drop a free pawn with ...d5 in order to avoid a loss in 12-14 moves.
