Could I have won?

I played this game recently and at no point it felt I could win .

What do you guyz think?

You shouldn't trade off all your pieces if you want winning chances.

You can't even play 38...Rd3 because white plays Rb2 and at worst gets a perpetual.

Rook endings are usually drawish.

14...Nxe5 or Bg7. I can't find anything after that.

So 13..Qxg5 should have been avoided? I thought if i do not trade queens , I will get checkmated soon since his rook might have come into play after white had advanced his h pawn .

Thanks all for responses .

6...Nc6 is kinda dull. 6...c5 (or after some preparation) opens things up for fun times ahead.

8...Nxe5 not very inspiring as it gives white a foothold on e5/f6 for his attack. Maybe 8...Bd7, maybe 8...Bd6, the position is quite dull as the pawns are balanced and immobile. But your bishops are worse than white's.

Definitely 14...Nxe5.

White could've tried 15. Bh6 Bf8 16. h5!? with a temporary bishop sac. And 20. g5 was blunt, the pawn's better on g4 supporting both h5 and f5.

24...Rb8 gains a tempo from the game, but it's still a very slow position, probably drawn?

33...R7b3 adds some pressure to white, then you pray he cracks and blunders. It's not really an improvement, but white has greater chances to mess up.
