Cracking the Open Scicilian
Personally, I like 2...e6 for black. In addition, 4...a6 looks like a much stronger option for black. It is a very flexible response that prevents Bb5 and allows for a possible queenside expansion and a stronger d5 on move 5. 6.Qe2+ was a nice move, but I think 6...Nge7 is a better plan as black should develop his dark square bishop to g7. If 7.Bb5 Be6 looks solid.
Hey all - just wanted to put up this recent online win where I destroyed one of my nemisises: the open Scicilian!
Wouldn't mind some analysis on this, as I'm always trying to find new lines against Scicilian systems... perhaps my oponent mistepped...?
