yeah black should have played 1...Rd8. if white captures with the pawn (2. cxd7), black recaptures with the rook (2...Rxd7), queen is forced to move to e2 (3.Qe2) (because otherwise black will capture the bishop on f3 for free). After 3...Bxe3 4. Qxe3, black has a winning advantage (rook vs. white's minor piece), plus two pawns. you got very lucky!!

Hello, I didn't know where to put this, it happened in a game I just played so I thought you analysis folks might be up for checking this. Is there a way here for black to escape mate? (i'm white by the way) I've been looking at it to see if there was a possible defense, I didn't find one during the game so I played it but I'm not sure that I'm not missing something.
