First Ever Rated OTB Game

So, I finally broke in my new USCF card in a weekly 3-round Friday night tournament.  I went 2.0, dropping my second round.  I was shocked at how panicked I was for my first round.  Here, I am sitting across from my opponent who was nearly 5x younger than myself.    In my head are all sorts of reasons for anxiety...taking notation, remember to hit the clock, and oh...that's right, playing chess without embarrassing myself.
I drew white and went into my normal white opening...London.  Fortunately, there was nothing that my opponent did that really threatened me as I went through the opening moves.  This let me get into the game with some thoughts of an attack...but more than anything, I was able to settle down.  Anyway, it wasn't pretty, but got me to not only my first USCF game, but my first rated game.
I went through the game and annotated my comments.  Anything I missed?

Congrats! Just the only thing I'll say is that if you're planning to castle kingside, then you probably don't want to open up your h-file, so it's much better for you to play Bxd6 as the engine suggests... unless you had planned to castle queenside?

I don't know whether it's better or not, but Bg3 is much more frequently played in this position.

Agree that you wouldn't want to castle King side though if you play Bg3

Deranged/IpswichMatt,

Thanks for your comments.  I know that the literature is mixed on the London as to whether you castle or not.   I usually do not castle when playing the London as the pawn structure usually (certainly not always) provides protection for the King already and allows  you to use that tempo somewhere else.  Also, in my study, there are two major attack ideas for the London 1) The use of the open diagonals for your bishops and queen, supported by the Knight; and 2) a king-side pawn storm supported by the H-Rook.

I believe that the engines prefer king-side castling (in which case losing the h-pawn is problematic).  However, if my intent is to always keep the idea of a king-side pawn storm as a possibility, Bg3 seems right.

With that said, I know that I could have initiated the Bishop-swap much earlier than I did.

Thanks for both of your kind words.

Congratulation on your first win of many.

@Laskersnephew

Thanks so much.  As I previously noted in my own analysis of the game, I saw that I should have taken with the pawn on 15.  However, you point out why move 11. was so bad.  I hadn't seen that and will tuck that away for further games.  Very good point.  Thanks so much!
