11.Bd5 e6 12.Ne7 exd5 13.Nexd5 might be another attractive way to win a pawn, as you get a firm grip on the d5 square, and attacks on b6 and d6 (in the future)

Thanks Greek guy - if you read the notes, I was thinking about this at the time, but was also thinking about trying to keep the knight on that outpost. In the end I just played a rubbish move.

You certainly have a very strong position here - as black pieces are rather passive and you dominate the center and black squares, I wonder if it's possible to start an attack against the black king, using the combined forces of your Knight, bishop and queen.
Maybe an idea is 20.Bd4, when it looks like it's difficult for black to unravel (20...d5 21.e5, 20...b4 Nd5, 20...Nh5 21.g4!?) and next g4 and Qh4 - black should get an attack I think.
I agree with lasker. 21 Nxg7 was much better; its his best defensive piece. I am familier with 120BCF and u should be proud of the game u played. it was in my opinion an excellent 1st game. u could go far!tnx 4 the live earlier. when I opened the b file I thought it was curtains 4 me. if you'd like a real game challenge me. malcolm
I played my first OTB match last night, against a player who I think was rated around 120 BCF. According to the BCF website, this is either 1850 ELO, or 1560 ELO (it's a slightly confusing explanation of how to calculate the rating conversion).
Anyway, here's the game. I won on time in the end, and got a very good position at one point after a blunder in the opening by my opponent, but couldn't really convert it. He fought back well, and it was a good game. Any comments appreciated.
