black was just lost after b5
First-time Sicilian
Obviously b5 was pretty rough lol. Also in general, e5 isn't played a lot in the sicilian, especially the closed sicilian as was the case here, instead e6 Nf6 and an eventual d5 push to free up your position are very thematic in the opening. e5 also has potential to leave you with a backwards pawn on d6 if it can't be liberated. Although e5 is played in some variations like the english attack to gain key tempos.
Also, I would suggest sticking with 2. e5 for a while. The sicilian is very difficult for beginners and requires strong positional and tactical ability.
you guys are both terrible, very little can be learned tactically from this game
This was only my third game. No reason to be so mean...

Thanks for the advice. I definitely won't be trying anything crazy like that anytime soon lol
A friend of mine and I played this game in our algebra class today. We didn't get to finish due to time constraints, and he doesn't want to continue it tomorrow. This was my first attempt at using any sort of predefined opening, and I feel like I could have played it a lot better. Any suggestions?
