Game Analysis says Chess.com Bots don't play at skill level?

Has anyone noticed that according to Game Analysis, bots don't play according to their skill level?

I pretty much exclusively play casual OTB at work and just use bots to scratch the itch, but curiosity got to me and I started using the game analysis to see where I could improve and I learned that most of the time none of the bots actually play at their rating level. This culminated in a bot rated 1400 (David) being rated at 350 for my most recent match.

What's going on here? I want an honest challenge and to be punished for playing like a 700. You don't learn by being handed wins?

If every single bot is bugged to play at no more than half its displayed strength like I'm seeing in my last 5 matches, do I need to challenge a 2000 bot in order to actually face a 1000 rating and improve? Or is Game Analysis just a terrible tool?

Yes and yes. Use an offline engine to analyze and just play higher rated bots than you would expect.

Thank you for the response and advice, I will operate this way from now on!

Yeah, that's not why my bots say. A 1200 bot will often play at a game rating of 1900 and the 1500 bots often are judged at 2100+
