According to chess.com's own opening explorer, the tumbleweed variation has a 100% win rate (out of two games). As a statistician, I can confirm that that definitely absolutely for sure means that it's a great move (p=1).

In most gambits, a pawn is sacrificed to gain a positional advantage, or have fast development. Most gambits that do not achieve either of these things are considered unsound...at a grandmaster level of playing.
The Tumbleweed Variation of the King's Gambit (1.e4 e5 2. f4 fxe4 3. Kf2?!) is one that moves the king early, and is said to be a losing move.
Stockfish says black has an advantage, and it is probably right. With pro-level play, this gambit is unsound. However, in the depths of Blitz, below 1000 ranking, could this strange opening be used?
It has a element of surprise, and that could cause your opponent to make a blunder. I decided to play a game and see how it went. This is the result:
