You do stay even, but white gets your central pawn

Pawnpusher.

You are right. In this game the E pawn does play a great roll at the end game Keeping the king at bay right next to my Bishop.

A conditional move here is where player x inputs a possible move of yours say 1.e4 and then his responce say e5

this can be really useful if you have a forced mate or something.

HI JETFIGHTER!

Thanks for the explanation. This was my first game ever on a team. Let's see if I understand what you said.

After move 29. c3  in above game, I knew I had a mate.

. . .  F6+  30. KG3   RG6+  31. KH4  RG4# mate.

What would I put in the conditional move since I knew there was a forced mate?

What is the purpose of it?

To have him resign?

A conditionl move is yourcalling his next move, you can make your next move, over and over as long as you keep getting his move right

Morning Paulified

The longest I have done is three moves to a mate.  I like the conditional move as it responds quickly and the opponent can respond right away without having to wait 3 or five days.

But I don't like that if it results in a forced mate, I don't get the sense that I made the moves and see the actual checkmate. Of course that is a minor detail.

Thanks for the comment.

SeniorPatzer

Have you also done this with a loss too?

RichColorado

When this was first posted there were diagrams before and after a move!

but now with the new v3 program they were removed.

I sill have them and i might add them to this post . . .

MONDAY OCTOBER 21,2019

Hi there. . .

I hope you got something out of this. I know that I did. I had never written down all my thoughts about possible moves in a game.

I think I checked him 13 times. I don't know if that is good or bad.

I know that I am not your chess instructor and there are many on this Chess. com site.

If anything, you can see in this game that the King left in the Center it is very vulnerable.

Castle if you can. Specially if the center pawn on your side are gone. I actually didn't want to have all the pawns. I tried to give some of them back so my pieces had room to move around.

Before you decide on a move to make. Make it in your head or on a small chess board where ever you are. Then look to see if it is a blunder and what your opponent is going to do to you, because you made the move.

Once the move is made there is no taking it back. In my game I made one move and I wrote. "Oh, Well." I hoped for the best.

I hope this actually helps the lower players how to look and think about the moves.

I don't even know how other players go about thinking, this is just my way.

Now, I like writing the moves in word and my thoughts just as well. If I can't decide which is the best course of action.

I wait another day. It actually helps to make a decision.

Since my chess abilities are diminishing and I'm losing games and ratings this has shown me I used to think more when I first started on Chess.com . . .

At 81+ years i still want to learn . . .

Bye for now . . .

                                      Happy Halloween coming up!

Shrivardhan123

I just follow my intutions and try to look for a better line for my pieces

RichColorado

What are you calling intuitions? . .

MorphysMayhem

5.-----Nxe4 looks plenty good.

RichColorado

But then the knight is stuck in the corner . . .

I wanted to develop more pieces . . .

MorphysMayhem

No, you just capture the knight hanging on h4

RichColorado

I was trying to find a mate not gain pieces for the sake of it . . .

his king was out with his sword . . .

Thanks for your comments . . .

RichColorado

I've gone over this game several times and also the comments made and i really enjoyed them. . . This was a group game, one of my first ones playing for The Geezer Group . . .

The firefly2611

This was three days for a move . . . Even so i was very nervous about losing . . .

The offer of my e5 pawn i saw a game that Josh Waitsking (Searching for Bobby Fischer movie.) played and he took the pawn and had to struggle to keep from losing . . . He lost the game as white . . . It was in his chess book he wrote . . . Forgot the title . . .

I did another game like this but have not posted it . . . These were before V3 Chess.com . .

     Thanks again . . .

Thanks for the comment . . .

 @ gf3

Thanks for looking at the game and the comment . . .

I'm going to look at the knight's move . . .

RichColorado

I just learned how to post a game by clicking on the little chess board . . .

But if i make a  wrong move I can't find a way to backup and erase it. . .

So i must be so careful not to make a mistake.. . . .
