White resigns?  What?!  There's nothing to analyze here, these dudes suck.  White can clearly win the knight and both of those middle black pawns over the span of a few turns and come out with a huge advantage over black.

Yes, I agree and in move 28. ... f5, black should have move 28. ... Rd8+ in order to get his Rook into play
bastiaan

7. Qg4 to take g7 pawn 7... Qc7 to Qc3+ take the rook after breaking pawn structure.

16. Na5 is to open the queen up and advance the knight to the only possible position next to b8 which is worse.

18. Bc2! (?) why is that such a good sacrifice. I wouldn't.

20... Qc5! (??) it's not so brilliant either I think, Nd5 uses the lost knight to block.

25...d1=Q gets you a bishop for a 2nd rank pawn. But I don't see something better. Keeping tempo might have been a good choice.

28... f5?? > 29.Qxe6+ leads to trouble.

29.. white resigns??? Qxc4+ and white is winning or am I missing something.

Smile the original poster made a mistake with last few moves of game. According to online chess-base these were 28...b5 29.Ke3 Nc4+ 30.Ke4 Qf2 0-1

Hello,

The opening with 7.Qg4 Qc7 is one of the main-lines of the winawer French, see books by Watson for example. 7...0.0 is becoming more popular nowdays, and is very theory intensive too. To be honest, won't touch a line like this until get to FIDE 2200 level, it is just too complicated, and trying to play by general principals is going to get you killed. For example, 15Rg1 is probably a resonable move because white isn't going to be able to castle, because of Rxg2 if bishop moves. White main asset is h-pawn, but has to put up with king floating in center which is black's main compensation. Won't say anymore, because don't really understand this line myself!

The opening was the french defence poison pawn variation.  it is a complicated opening.

First of all like one user pointed out. Of course 28...b5 was played not 28...f5?? Even though these are great Grandmasters it doesn't take a 1200 rating to spot that. 28...f5 is about as pointless a move as I can think of and just loses to 29.Qxe6+ as is easy to spot.

Second of all mr.tbierig choose your words carefully and don't be an ignorant clown.

THESE DUDES SUCK? Who are you and what have you accomplished to allow to call GM Hjartarson #1 in Iceland and the Nordic countries for most of the 90's and GM JESUS Nogueiras the best Cuban chess player for a very long time? Doesn't take a scientist to realize the game score is clearly wrong. Know your chess history, analysing games by these players who are at a level neither of us will ever reach can only be helpful.

It might be good advice to double check posted games to make sure that the moves are accurate.  You can always edit later, but for the sake of learning, it is good to be accurate in move orders.  Nothing critical, just a kind suggestion.
