Yeah. My brain likes to whisper "if you sit on your rating you're not really X rating... you coward"
How To Grind

Yeah, because you never know... you might win 50 rating points, or you might lose 50 rating points.
(But since B1Z is consistently close, I don't think it's risky, he should just focus on doing his best and not worry about it)

honestly yeah that's how I got so high, by not worrying, but now it's hard...

maybe you should read some chess books?

Yeah it's tough... do you ever watch speedruns? Someone gets on a really good run, and it will be their personal best (or a new world record) and now they're super nervous so it's harder to perform.

I watch naroditsky's speedrun, mostly because I ran out of sh.tposts to watch on youtube.

i like when they are about to get a world record and someone starts spamming donations with audio messages >.<

They time each segment, so they can know how far ahead or behind they are.
Some sections require a lot of luck... so to get a world record typically these guys play the game thousands of times, with near perfect skill, just waiting for the luck and flawless execution to align.
So when they get near the end of a record run, there's a lot of nerves for them to fight.
One guy kept himself calm by saying something that seemed to me he was using like a mantra
"Only two things can happen at this point, either I get it, or I don't"
coward?
