The engine lost because you are the best player I've ever seen.
I defeated Houdini

I have beaten engines when they have only 2 seconds to move-and it played some pretty silly positional moves. 2 seconds a move is not a lot of time.
shut up your accusation Matej. I never beat Houdini 2nd time. Following the game you can see I always went for exchanges to simplify. 2000 is the default elo given at arena. pawn promotion is evident. you don't need to be even 1000 to see that, thanks for letting me know again though.
CP6033 2 second might be the culprit I think, because I never even had a advantage in the other times I played Houdini or any modern chess engine for that matter. except windows chess, that is quite easy to beat up to level 5. :)

Wow, you outplayed the machine in the endgame?! Congratulations!
I've never beaten a machine even at half of its force...

The computer may have been playing to ~2000 strength but 2s time may have far compenstated it's tactical and positional play.It was playing best to ~1300
Now I think time is indeed the culprit. Set the time per move to 1second and see it is often easy to beat. just avoid sharp lines. :D

Congrats, now wish me luck trying to get windows 8 working properly...it's not often man beats the machine...

At first I was very very impressed, but now I'm confused.
Are you saying the machine had two seconds per move, but you had as much time as you wanted and it wasn't allowed to think on your turn?
I thought you meant that you beat Houdini in a game of bullet chess!
okay, don't call me a liar right away, but today I defeated Houdini 4 at full strength , the game is below, and you can ask why I made any move.:D I am rated only around 1350.
Houdini had to made his move in 2 seconds though. It was full strength.
The opening was exchange french, which many people hate. :P
Any reason why the engine lost??
