This is the

worst game I have ever played I suck dont I? I mean this is pretty sad. I had an advantage and I totally lost. Go ahead and laugh. This is pretty horrible huh?

hey you do not suck, you actually played really well (before the little blunder, but still impressive).

just take enough time to examine the board before moving, especially in the online chess games. Besides that, I thought you creamed him...

??? Free queen at move three!! You look like you are new to the game. You should get yourself a good fundamentals book like Play Winning Chess by Yasser Sierawan. You gotta know to pick that stuff up without even thinking. Keep playing though, chess has a lot to offer. Have fun and good chess.

Hey man, take it easy on yourself no need to go around beating yourself about it. Same thing happen to me so what I did is to learn from it. Shuttlechess92 is right take your time looking around the board before you make your move.Cool
and be cool you never know soon you gonna start winning some games.

That is a really good book.

I could not believe that Black won when you were creaming him.  I thought it was a typo.  Next time, pay attention to your opponents pieces.

I agree with some of the other posters, not taking the queen was a mistake other than that you build a very big advantage.

Could it be that you became a bit to over confident in the end? Then when you started losing pieces it seemed like you paniced and virtually gave up around move 36...

You could have challenged his queen promotion a lot more than you did, and seeing how he played in the beginning, chances are he would make a mistake.

Next time respect your opponent no matter how big the advantage, but don't give him so much respect you do not test his limits.

Back to the drawing board.

I guess...

I hate to say it but I think I have played worse lately and I am good...

dude i suck but what helps me is to try to think about what the other side is planning first then think what i'm planning. if you only look at your plan his plan might get you first do this and slowly you will get better i know it

I thought you played descent enough. Rather than goad you or anything like that. I will show you where you missed your checkmate oppurtunity. At move 22 you should have captured the pawn at d4 with the rook instead of the pawn. Heres how it would have played out.

You don't suck. Blunders happen to everyone.  You were still winning in the end there.  The only reason you lost is because your end game play doesn't seem to be as good as the rest of your game.  Also, losing an advantage like that doesn't do well for your self esteem regarding chess lol

It's all good.  If you can play as well as you did in this game (the beginning at least) then you're obviously not a bad player.

I've done much, MUCH worse, believe me hehe :)

Chess is all about learning from your mistakes.  Obviously, by your play notes, you've learned.  So, in the end, success :)

"There are 64 squares on a chess board. Look at them all before every move."

I forget who said this quote, but it's a good one. I take it to mean that before I make the move I intend on making, I check every single one of my opponents' pieces and my pieces and try to see what potential attacks both of us could make within the next two moves. I rarely go past this because if I predict their movements inaccurately, my whole plan could be blown. I see chess as a game of balance and adaptation. You must be flexible enough to respond to what your opponent does, not just hope that all goes according to plan - because it rarely does.

I think that as late as on your 39th you had a winning position:

39. Ra7!, Kb4 (39... Kb5? does absolutely nothing after 40. Ra8!) 40. Kf2, h4 41. Kf3, Kc3 42. Kg4, Kb2 43. Kxh4, a1=Q 44. Rxa1, Kxa1 45. Kg5, Bf7 46. f6, g6 47. g4 and so on, easily won by white.

That missed Queen on move three screams of a lack of attention. Don't play on the computer. Set up a real board and play out various lines on it. Make sure you are 'into' the position and have played lots of 'what-if' lines, even in the early opennings.

Somtimes if you have big adventage you think "och evry move is good he is few  pices down i win easyli" and do blunders.

Avatar of Maradonna

I think that you resigned too early. It looked like anything was possible in this game. With a power piece like the queen, black could have easily stalemated you :)

thanks for the game post - u r being too harsh on urself, and even if u didn't quite convert u were certainly able to create some chances.

further to dlordmagic's comment on the missed mate, i think u also had mate in one at move 27, and could have finished the game with either 27. Qc7 or 27. Rc7.

I agree. The way he was talking I thought he had the black pieces.

Avatar of opiejames

27.Rc7 (or Qc7) both look like mate to me.  If players shot themselves after one bad game all chessplayers would be dead.  You learn, grow and go!
