That particular opponent resigned a load of games that day and still has some 250 active games. Possibly he/she simply decided to cut down on the active games by resigning a bunch of them.
I won but how?

Oh, that makes me feel great, jdthompson but what can one do? I still would have preferred to finish. Still looking for an analysis of my moves if someone has the time.
I don't think the connected pawns are advanced enough to be a threat just yet and being down a piece it is going to be hard for him to defend those pawns and ward off attacks on his king at the same time.

12... Ne7 is a good move. now his queen guards d6 and he's threatening your knight.
Your 15. Bc2?? doesn't provide a mate because Qxh7 Nxh7. This is why f knights are such important pieces.
You also missed a great combo: 23. Bb5 Qd8/e7 24. Nc6! Q...7 25. f5!!
24. Qh3! Look at the resulting position ;)
26. d5! was another missed opportunity. You would of ended up with passer(s?) of your own.

Why not finish all of the games so as not to disappoint your opponents? Better yet, why not play only two or three games at a time so that if you get bored you can easily finish them?
Thanks for your input.
Kingfisher: thanks for the analysis. Very helpful.

Skakmati - I am a pawn pusher of ELO 1425 so for a good game analysis I bow to those with more experience and knowledge
- however, I note that your opponent had a rating of 1846 so my first question is how come the range disparity to start with? - may be it was the individual point change dynamics whilst the game was being played
- I infer that your opponent did not give you a reason for resigning and considering the points loss differential of -348 they must have been determined to resign and not just some whim - have you challenged them for a reason for resigning a game that was for them at best a probable win and at worst a "draw"
- the game has had some good analysis above and you probably have access to some type of Chess engine that you could experiment with so try different outcomes
- your profile shows that you have a Judo brown belt so maybe the lessons learnt gaining that degree can now be used to give you understanding of your own needs to pursue an ambiguous situation - use this experience to strengthen your next games and seek to engage your opponent in dialogue before the opportunity is no longer available

Thank you everyone. Appreciate the responses. BTW, to add insult to injury , one of my current games was won because my opponent lost on time (looks like he lost several concurrent games same way). So here I was, in a winning position (IMHO) and looking forward to learning in what appeared to be a Rook and pawn ending and, once again, I won without really winning. I'm depressed.

my dad played a person who resigned on move 7(and things looked even) and move 0.some people just have too many games and too little time

...and this might not even be the end of your troubles. I was playing over the board at a local club and middle game we heard "sorry, but this room is scheduled and we have to leave". So that was fun. I'm also sure that of all the chess tournaments ever played a few had earthquakes during them ha ha!
Please take a look at this game of mine, I won but don't know why my opponent resigned. I've annotated as bests I could. I am an advanced beginner (I guess).
