I recently played a live chess game as black with the kings indian. in return for a rook and a powerful passed pawn on the seventh rank that i perceived as being tough to defend against as white, I gave away my queen. Of course, being the idiot that I am, I blundered miserably two moves later, and lost the game anyway, BUT... ive done a bit of analysis on other possible lines and my queen sac appears unclear. what do you all think?

whaddyall think?

worth noting that this game was a rematch, and in the game before i played white and he played a philidor defence and fell for the legal trap. lol. embarassing loss in light of that

Often when I play the KID I get an attack going but then it doesn't quite work out and I can't pin down why. Most of the moves seemed reasonable thematically, whether they were the most accurate ones... I don't think the queen sac was necessary though, you were still doing okay even if not mating.

You looked in good shape until the queen sac. Even if you had played 25...Re3 he could have given back the queen sac by Qxe2 Rxe2 Rxe2 ending up a pawn ahead. Best might have been 22...Qd4 with the threat of e2+, probably forcing a queens trade. After 23.Qxd4 cxd4 you have connected passed pawns, and probably a won game.

i got the computer analysis. here are my innacuracies/blunders/mistakes, according to the machine

6. ...Nbd7?! (does it understand the King's Indian, lol, it recommended Nc6)

10. ...Nh5?!

11. ...f5?!

17. ...f4?!

22. ...Qxf1??

haha, well the computer doesnt seem to understand the KID. still, Qxf1 would appear quite silly now that I've been given a couple of other opinions. thanks guys!
