Man Vs Komodo!

Please I am dying to know could either side have won this?

I remember seeing my friend and he said if he played the best chess engine in the world (At the time this was Komodo) in a one second per move match that he would not lose...

I said okay...

He said at the start to amp himself up, If I lose this match me and my whole family are going to HELL.

Next minute the clock started and I was like pft he's lucky this wasn't a real bet, but we captured everything and everyone started gathering around and my word, he said before the match that it doesn't matter about technique in a fight if you've already knocked someone out and he said he would try the pacman style on the computer (basically means eating all the pieces up before the person has time to re-act) and here is the following of what happened!

Can you tell me with analysis if the game could of been won by either side with better play or something? when we all looked at it, it seems no matter the variations it always seems to end up as a draw! Thanks!

Your gif doesn't give anyone the chance to examine the game. Post the pgn.

Move 33 b4 continuation still looks drawish

Here is a variation!

Leela Zero Vs Leela Zero

Seems to be a draw no matter what -- What do you think?

oxideokay

Any thoughts?

WSama

Man vs Komodo? I've watched way too much BTOOOM! to even try it.

Chess engines are programmed usually to avoid certain situations and figure out which moves have a high chance of winning, but if you constantly eat pieces as shown in here, being materialistic enough but also not making bad moves, you sort of gain control of tempo so it seems!

LionVanHalen

Why can't a top GM face Komodo or similar?

i know Nakamura and some others did... with odds, but not interested in that nonsense?

Straight fight... Carlsen v Komodo, a decent purse... probably gonna lose but at least we see how close he get?

oxideokay

Bro not true at all, my friend here played Komodo as you can see!

He got a draw!

He almost had a win! I think it can be done! Magnus might be able to get a draw with the engine!

The problem is most GMs: Try to find positions that computers are too familiar with, where as this type of play is so bad that the computer has to make bad moves to compensate i.e: Recapturing, that or the moves are so genius and simple that whoever programmed the engine overlooked the strategy of constantly eating your enemy keeping up the pressure non-stop until your enemy has no defences or perhaps my friend just got lucky or made his own luck who knows?

This engine was running on a Core 2 Duo with an SSD and 4GB RAM with one second per move!

And why would you wanna see Carlsen vs Komodo?

I already showed you one of the worlds hardest games that will ever be played!

You try and face Komodo with 1 second per move and keep up the intensity for 44 seconds to a draw but almost win!

(The computer was running away like a coward at the end!)

LionVanHalen

Bullet is bull...

oxideokay

Oh forgive me, you can do better LionVanHalen?

LionVanHalen

No, because i have sh,t connection, used tablet and sore fingers?!

And i think you said Komodo get 110 straight win...

LionVanHalen

Beside, Komodo is rubbish now... yes?

WSama

Whoa whoa whoa. Just because Komodo didn't win the championships doesn't mean it's unko. Take it easy VanHalen.

LionVanHalen

If you want a chance... apparently you keep a closed position, such as KID or KIA and bore the beast... these super CPU are serious overrated... a KID expert could crush Komodo... because Komodo too dumb to recognise king side attack?

WSama

That's interesting though. I like playing computers, and I'd like to try that strategy some day. Of course, I'm no expert.

LionVanHalen

Lion play Komodo for UK1million.., is deal?
