I'm playing in my first official standard time chess tournament and this was round 4. I had previously lost to a 1590 and beat a 1150 and a 1630, my opponent beat a 1200 and a 1500 and lost to a 2100 (I think). I studied a lot of d4 defences (I will not write which since perhaps they're listening!!) but he didn't go for that at all. Any comments? This analysis is not based on a computer, it's just my impressions from the game. My apologies if it turned out rather wordy.

I think it's 19. Nb6+, but after that, "huh?" still appliesLaughing

no, it's actually

16. Nxd5 instread of Qg4+ and then either

16 ... Rg8
17 Qg4+ R/Qd7 (... Kb8; Nb4 with another double threat)
18 Nb6+

or

16 ... cxd5
17 Bxh8 with a get out of jail free card

Anyway after 43 ... Nxe5 he has 44 b5! with a drawn position but can I really force a passed pawn and everything, even if somehow I win a pawn on the queenside? still looks impossible to me.

, I was looking at too many variations with my computer and got a little bit lost!
