My first Tournament game

time controls 60m with 30 sec increments, I look forward to your comments and suggestions; and perhaps a way to survive after Bxg7 I think I should have played g6 a few moves earlier

+ I think you shouldn't play 10...cxd4 because you hope your opponent will take with the c pawn. I would probably go with 10...Rc8, maybe develop even some more before taking on d4, keep the tension. It doesn't make too much of a difference here but my point is you shouldn't hope in chess.

+ I didn't understand 18...Qb5, what fork? It got you in trouble after 20.a4!

+ How about 25...f6?

+ I also think it is all over after Bxg7, nice tactic by white.

Good game :)

btw the title was meant to be my first tournament loss but I was in a hurry  'had to get to work' so typo and the annotations towards the end get shorter and less as i was already at the point were I was gonna be running to work :S

thankyou for your comments stormshout. I believe your right about 10 cxd being inaccurate. The fork is nd7 which isnt a threat yet but becoming one. i like 25. f6 and it looks like white will be pushed backwards and attack completly gone afterwards nice spotting!

It seems 12... Nb4? unnecessarily cost you time as white was able to reply with constructive moves and eventually you needed to return the knight. Probably better to offer the bishop exchange 12... Bg6 right away or else you could first develop with 12... Be7 and see what happens. There's maybe not an immediate way to use the insecure placing of white queen against the black rook on the c-file but it could still trouble white later.

Thanks Shakkali I guess your right about the nb4 move I was just trying to be the one that was forcing issues but it was a lost tempo putting the knight out there just to bring him back couple moves later

I think 31...f5 was a blunder.

You were still okay after 31. Bxg7 Bxg7 32. Rg3 Kf8 33. Qxg7+ Ke7.

31...f5 killed off the flight route.
