My game vs. someone almost 300 pts higher than me.... and how I won

sorry, but that first move was horrible, and the only reason you won was his multiple blunders. if you are a 1600 turn based player, how did you make it there with these openings?

Move 20...Rxe1+?? Better is 20...Bc6!
You played a great game and ur opponent did not, so u won in great style. Well done!

Why don't you play him against it and find out if it really is weak?
It seemed reasonably solid position to me to start from, even if it is a more quite/passive opening.

I think it was a good game, the rating looked to be the opposite, sure you have only 1100? Ok opening (a bit slow, but it makes sence) and you tok advantage of his mistakes!
-He could done some better defencive moves, but you would have the upper hand annyway!

With white you can play allmost anny first move and make a good game!
In this game white played a safe opening, he managed to get all his pices well placed, exchanged off the most active pices of his opponent, and won the game in style!
What more can you ask for?
I'd say 1. e3 gives away the first move advantage but if it makes you particularly comfortable or your opponents uncomfortable then that's what we're all trying to do, no? White scores around ~41.5% in 5000 games in my database, which is pretty horrid, I guess.
I have an online game going on right now against a player who consistently uses a system as white where he plays 1. e3, -> b3 -> Bb2 -> f4 -> etc. He seems to do OK with it, and is rated a little under 1800 at the moment.
Congrats on the win, bluntz_b_rollin. Keep on keepin on

The main reason for the bad score with 1.e3 is probably the strength of the players who is jusing it.
-The bad thing with 1.e3 is that you give you opponent the opportunity to play what ever he wants, but that could be a good thing too!
-The single most important thing to think about for beginners is to not give away pices for free, and take the pices given for free! When the blunders a fewer, the level is higer!

great game!i was expecting to see one more of those "patzer" games who give away all of their pieces because they think they have something.and i got pretty amazed...well done you played much higher than your level!
I apologize for coming at my comment in such a rude way. I should really have though before I posted. I am also now playing a game against BBR.

What he said, Bluntz! If that's how you play at 1100, I'll remember to stay away when you score 1600!
