Pretty sure it’s because your bishop was being attacked by the h6 pawn

I think because you "hang" the bishop even though it's not really hanging since after hxg5, hxg5 they pretty much have to give you the knight on f6 or they get mated. Looking even deeper after that line, you probably don't even need to take the knight back you have things like Qh3 or Bg6 with a deadly attack.
