Now I went through the "opening" with the computer and Bg2 should be ?? not ?. Anyway, I'm interested in the way I tried to hold the endgame together, what strategy should I have adopted to free my position?

so after starting the tournament rather well (2 out of the first 3 games), I drew and lost in the next two games (for 2.5/5). my reward from the Swiss system: the highest ranked opponent so far! He was the 3rd seed initially, but obviously he had not been having a good tournament. Also, I had to defend my 2/2 record with white. I wasn't sure what opening he would use, so I just read general stuff for d4.
and to round things up, I saw some nice Northern Lights on my way home from the venue.
