Two knights and a king versus king on on an otherwise empty board cannot force checkmate. However if the weaker side happens to have a pawn on any of many particular squares, mate can indeed be forced.
not my game

No you can not.
I am not going to argue with a 1300 player about the fact that you can mate with 2 knights and a king. It is most certainly possible, you have to lead him into a corner, I am right, you are wrong, nuff said.
You didn't say 'can' mate. You said 'force' mate. Two knights can not force checkmate.
You can force a mate if the opponent has a pawn in the right place.

Yes but two knights and a king vs a king is different than vs a king and a pawn.

That's very true which is why the word "force" is used.

Then you no longer have two knights vs. king. You have two knights and pawn vs. king or you have two knights vs. king and pawn.
If you start adding other pieces to the mix you may as well throw in a queen.

OK, I am going to put this 2 knight thing to rest. You are able to force mate with 2 knights and a king, if the opponent has a pawn on the right square. You CAN checkmate a lone king with 2 knights and a king if the opponent blunders and walks into it, but it cannot be forced, like with a rook and king.

IMO, Black is up. He will take at least one of the knights probably, and two bishops and a king can mate a king, while two knights can't.
Two knights and a king can force a mate.

Kupov's right, you cant ever force a checkmate against a player with just 2knights+king vs. king. However if your opponent is very very new to the game you might get lucky and he will let you checkmate him in the corner.

No you can not.

you can put the pieces in a position where checkmate has been done with two knights, but not if you follow chess rules-the king will have to move into check to make it possible
You can mate with 1 knight, google smothered mate.

also Tom, your live chess blitz rating is actually lower than Kupov's, and he's actually over 1400.
Don't come at me with that. I have played 1 game in blitz chess (and won), that's why it's lower. That is not enough games to pass judgement.

I rarely play CC chess and most of my games are from awhile ago, anyway my live chess rating is 1400 which equals probably over 1500 CC if you wanted to know my true rating.
Anyway as far as I know two knights and a king will not be able to checkmate against a lone king (unless he walks into a corner I guess).
