Hello !

I did a game before and it was decided to be a draw and I would like someone to explain why because I was largely dominant in that game (I play black)

You ran out of time but your opponent had only a king so it was a draw.

Your opponent did not have enough material to mate you, no matter how badly you might have played.

Thank you for your answer, but I looked and apparently I had 2 minutes left to play and he had 3

Stalemate - you left your opponent with no legal moves and they weren’t in check

The escape square d1 is stopped by the knight, so it's pretty much a draw.

Remember that material advantage has no practical significance when stalemate is achieved - it's a draw regardless of how much material one side has over the other.

Is this a joke?

When a very low rated player complains about a draw, you don't even have to look at the game, it is 99.9% a stalemate.

For further explanation on stalemate, see Bishop by George is Goated & Doctor Bean. wink

True. I'm waiting for the game where the stalemate is the result of en passant being played.
