Philidor Defense

i wanted to start the one move a game opening study program as suggested by Michael de la Maza in his book Rapid Chess Improvement. I chose the philidor defense for black because i believe it is one of the foundation in learning the basics of King pawn opening.

rapid chess improvement help me a lot. i got stuck in the 1700 rating in my other internet games prior to me joining this chess site. i notice that when i play stronger player within this range i always fell into tactical trouble and miss good opportunities myself to win. i completed the seven circle in one year and my game is improving not only in pattern recognition but simple strategy on why such move should be like a series or coordinated with one another, not a hit and miss thing.

one move a game opening study program goes like this. you analyse your game using any chess program. if you make a mistake very early in the game, look up the opening you played and find out where you deviated from the standard line. then change your opening to reflect what you have discovered. in this game for example, i move 3...Nf6 instead of 3...Nc6. Nf6 is a mistake and if white only know how to punish me from that, i will be a pawn down already. so my opening reportoire must look like this. 1.e5 e5 2.Nf3 d6 3.Bc4 Nc6 then i will stop analyzing further but wait for my next game where i will play this line and let the chess program to do the analysis again when and where i made a mistake.
What was the point of 16.Nd4 ?White moves the knight to f5 and when black moves its bishop to f8 ,retreats it to d4.
Is there any immediate danger to knight on f5?
