I'm still on the lookout to make one myself.

Should we post moves we ourselves consider "!!" or what chess.com engine analysis considers "!!" in a game? There is a big difference. I've seen some creative moves that I think deserve a double exclamation "!!" but conversely I've also seen the computer assign "!!" to moves really obvious to a human player.

Moves that a person would consider "!!" happy.png

15. Nb8+!! is one of my favorite moves I have ever found (mainly due to the elegant finish).

I had one before, but that was some time last year. It'd take forever to find which game it was. It happened by some pure dumb luck btw, considering I was something like 600-700 rating at the time.

Some of these are clever AF.  Others seem totally random (to me...and maybe to player, based on following moves).

I've never had a brilliant move.  Might well never have one.  The other day I thought I did something brilliant (admittedly, a low bar for me) but no dice....

Agreed, but this is simply how chess is. Brilliant moves don't occur every day (or else they would just be the ordinary). If you play chess enough, then statistically: some brilliant moves will come up eventually.

However, "brilliant" from a human (not computer) standpoint primarily comes from understanding the position and looking for a creative way to exploit something. A common tactical motif is often the "deflection" where one side can play a stylistic move (usually a pseudo sacrifice) and then the opposing position falls apart.

Just keep learning; try to be creative and eventually the brilliant moves will seem to find you! happy.png

In my analysed games, there are some, but these were always done by my opponent. (as I am a shitty player)

In the new analysis function, you can know how many Brilliant moves you made since your first game on chess.com or whatever time period you want.

https://www.chess.com/insights

In 1110 games I played, I made 24 Brilliant moves. But I didn't find how to get the games with the brilliant moves through that function, but I have archived them each time I had a game with a brilliant move in a library)
