This is my first game in the sicilian where i have not played 2.c3. I said in a previous topic that i would be posting my games in the sicilian for some feedback to help me get a good knowledge in this opening. All analysis and help is welcome.

According to the game explorer, 7...Be7 is the main line here. The main line response would be Qf3.

TwoMove

7...Be7 was played a lot by Bobby Fischer, his main choice when not playing 7...Qb6. You can find annotated games of his many places,  e.g. 60 Mem games, books on the world championship match etc. The main continuation is 8.Qf3 Qc7, to prevent Bc4 9.o.o.o nd7 then either g4 intending bxn and g5 etc, or a more central play with Bd3.

In game 12b4 looked horribe.

Have you tried 2. d4 cxd 3. c3 - the Smith-Morra gambit.

Highly recommended (at least from my games _ have a 68:28 record with it), the position is not what your opponent is looking for from playing the Sicilian and it can trap even good players if they drop their guard

A few examples of the tricks available in the morra (not all of the play is sound mind you - especially in the last game)

[Edit: See variation in move 15 of the move list in this game for the forced mate I missed]

on move 8.f4 is not best, you could've castled then prepare for the assault on the g7 square later in the game
