I am black in this game by the way.

So I thought I played some pretty good moves in the opening, but I couldn't punish his unnatural moves such as bd2 and rb1 and he somehow managed to get counterplay.  As Black, did I play the opening wrong? What else did I do wrong? It also seemed that I was killed by a trick with qg3 and bh6.  Although I avoided it once it seemed like this elementary trick made me lose material.  Help me out.  Where did i go wrong?

Thanks in Advance

I think the main feature is the e5 pawn which blocks your access to your Kingside while the whole game you are trying to get a counterplay from you Queenside.

The bishop for knight exchange in move is good since it eliminates one main defender when you castle Kingside. White light square bishop is probably bad anyway, given that your central pawn chain controls the light squares.

I feel that 14. b5 is a good move. It cuts your rook's activity. On hindsight, perhaps you should have played Be7 instead. Bb6 eyes your bishop on your opponent's King, but it is less versatile. Maybe Be7 then d6? Or you could have played d6 earlier, like 10 ... d6 can be an improvement.

Perhaps feel artificial castling is better in this game though I'm not entirely sure about that.

Ah yeah, 7 ... Qa5+ is the answer to that irritating e5 pawn.
