So, it appears Stockfish really likes when a winning move is Nfd6+
Below are two different game reviews, both marking the move Ndf6 + (!! Brilliant). In BOTH games, the position was +M2 with Ndf6+ creating +M1. In the game on top, the piece must be taken as a sacrifice. In the game on bottom it doesn’t matter as the king can move.
I don’t know all the metrics Stockfish uses in qualifying a move to be assigned a Brilliant mark but I would have thought any Mate in 2 or 1 even if it involved an underpromotion or en passant would be too simple and would likely get penalized for not finding it.
Anyway, one of the funniest parts was that in both cases at the bottom of the Game Review it suggested I work on lessons & puzzles that are Mate in 2
