I have no clue what happened to the topic I first made but yeah, link to it here, because it won't let me edit/delete/reply to it so I didn't know what to do. Sorry.

But yeah, I completely lost on the d-file here because I guess I overlooked the total danger of that play. Any advice on what I should do better would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!

Looks like you have the players' colors reversed in the post.

A couple of quick things. First, castle early. Move 7 looked like a good opportunity.I don't understand Qe7 there, and always be suspicious when someone parks a rook on the same file as your queen, your king, and especially both. If the King was off the e file, the pins would never have happened. Also, look at 11. ... de. I think that works to pick up his pinned knight.

I also noticed the game was a 7 minute time control. This may start an argument, but I think at your level, you should not be playing fast games. You need the time to think through positions and gain experience. I wouldn't recommend anything quicker than 30, and preferably 45+.

Your setup is a bit confusing:

  • It is shown from Black side
  • Your name is first in the vs
  • White won so you were Black.

You lost for 2 reasons.

  • You played the opening without a plan which meant that your central advantage disintergrated. e.g. you played ...Nd4 without a significant follow to c3
  • You lost your Queen when the centre collapsed.

Hmm, yes sorry, I put myself as white by accident.

Clarify- I am black and my opponent is white. White won 1-0.

And hmm thanks for the advice and such. And I was planning on castling but I never got around to it idk =[ and as for making a plan...I had no idea how I could've attacked his position. I don't see any way I dont know heh.

Thanks for the advice
