This is one of my better played games tactically. but I still feel that my endgame is weak. I take too much to mate my opponent and often blunder in the process. My opponent was about a 100 points higher then me at the time of the game.

Tomorrow is my first OTB Chess Tournament. It will actually be my first ever chess game played OTB. I go to a pretty big college so I expect to get smacked but it will be well worth the experience.

The problem with that game is that you are playing against the scholars mate opening, which is absurdly bad.

Yea, I was rather surprised to see that as well. Doesn't really have too much to do with how I handled the endgame though.

I agree that you are lacking in your endgame, though your tactics in the middle were great. I think towards the end you were focusing too much on material gain and not enough on your opponent's king. I think you probably could have won in less than 40 moves, as opposed to 49.

Thanks.. And I think you're right. Rarely do I have a clear plan in the endgame. I usually just move aimlessly, hoping a checkmate falls into my lap. 

I need to study the endgame more. Appreciate the input.

Good game,

I don't think you really "lacked in the endgame", as your position was more a middlegame mating attack.

I think I've spotted an improvement earlier : with 30...Re5, you can probably launch a mating attack with Q+R (starting with Rg5+)
