That annoying pin!

I have been trying to develop my chess game lately, but the constant thorn on my side has always been the knight pin in the early game. My pieces' development would be wonderful until this point:

h7 to h6

To captainbob: although h7 to h6 prevents a pin or removes one, it also prevents me from successfully castling on the kingside. That exposed pawn on h6 is subject to an attack.

To tonydal: so you would ignore the future pin and counter by 3 ...Nc6?

What to do about the Bishop that goes to Knight five (sorry for descriptive notation, appropriate here) is an ongoing struggle for most chess players. Playing Pawn to Rook three is okay in some situations and not in others, each case has to be dealt with on its own merits and any rule of thumb given here will have too many exceptions to be useful. It's a conundrum that we all live with and only eases with time and experience. Welcome to chess.

who cares???? develop!!!! oh, by the way, the e5 pawn...Nc6!!!!

In this position you could pin both of white's knights.

or maybe pin back by Bg4, it works too!

I like the pinning back idea. It equalizes the pressure and develops a piece, but what if the white's bishop still takes the knight?
