Marco vs Robbert....... Marco wins!

wirebolt

Referring to post 1034, I found that game very interesting and how white managed to screw up his game with all of his mistakes and dropping so many pawns. What Marco showed there is that pawns are just as important as the other pieces, and that's something many beginner players (including me) overlook. I think that was one of the best games that Marco has shown us in this forum.

LOL!  I am winning this game.

But Robert is winning:  0 - 2 - 0 for him (finished games).

I think Robert is a better player than me; in fact he is very good and he is not a patzer; he studies a lot. But I am improving my skills a bit.

Here's something interesting Marco. Have you ever checkmated someone with a pawn.

I think I did it once, but I do not remember the game. If I find it, I will post the game here.

AGAIN!!!  THE F7 PAWN IS SO YUMMY!!

HahXianMing

Marco's favorite square must be f7!!! nice Marco!!

wirebolt
Your opponent was very careless there, Marco. I'm glad I don't normally fall for the f7 trap, although I have a few times.

Yes. This fried liver attack is tricky. If you do not pay attention, you may at least lose some pieces.

HahXianMing

I agree with Marco and wirebolt.

 f7 pawn is very dangerous.

wirebolt

I agree with HahXianMing. There are many traps involving the f7 pawn but if you can block the diagonals to it, you should be ok.
