How can anyone ever claim to see the difference between a computer-using cheat and a clever player?  Too many permutations to explain away.

Surely you are not just practicing your cheating and asking for pointers on how to hide better.

Anyone who accuses a 1500 rated player of cheating is...either delusional or dumb.  Yeah, the player only uses cheating to win every third game...lol

Black makes a huge number of non-computer moves...h6 and a6 are only played by computers when srictly necesary for starters. The fact both were played in random positions already tells me that is no computer playing. If that isin't enough white gets a very good attack in. Im positive that at least around move 14 to 16 white held an undisputed advantage, white simply did not know how to press it. Just ignore fellas like that and keep improving man.

Definitely not - I was NOT cheating in any way - but my highly ranked opponent got very abusive, accused me of having no morals or conscience, and continued to insist that he knew I was using a chess engine. I am just at a loss to know why he started thinking that and insisted on maintaining his stance. In the end I just resigned - I don't even think I was in any danger of winning the game!

I just posted here in the heat of the moment because I was really offended by his attitude :(

I did consider it, but his comments didn't quite seem as serious or offensive as chess.com's examples of abuse/harassment. I just took the accusation of cheating to heart :(

Actually, no, not really, and I must have played hundreds of games on ItsYourTurn, Stan's NetChess as well as 100+ here.

Anyway, this is getting a bit off-topic for the analysis forum so I think it would be best to let it rest now.

Then again, we all start at 1200, so cheaters are also rated 1200 or 1500 at some point in space-time. (Or lower if they start cheating after losing a few games.) And there are cheaters who don't do it all the time but only on a rematch or such. I think that some people here pretend to know more than they do. Of course, I am not at all suggesting that cheating took place in this game, but you couldn't know this just from looking at the rating.

 I apologize. I actually reviewed the complete game and I can tell you without a doubt that if there was any cheating going on in that game then somebody has serious chess program issues. Cheaters hate to lose at all. They want their rating to be something they can never achieve in real life. It gives them a temporary feeling of self worth and then they realize that they didn't accomplish anything at all. So they repeat the cheating process over and over again thinking that the higher rating will fulfill their empty skull. They begin to feel worse and worse because they can't handle the fact that their time spent is worthless and just a function of regurgitation. They waste the most valuable resource that we all have, time. They fall into denial and start to believe that what they are doing is worthwhile. They become cheat addicts. With each passing second they fall deeper and deeper into their own delusional world where if they were to wake up and look into a mirror they would throw up all over because the sight of their own face would make them sick. Scientific? Nope.

In the year I've played here, I don't think I've played one cheater.  If I have, I'm none the wiser...and I'm probably happier for it. 

The amount of absurd speculation that goes on here is a disease. Oh well, poor me...I got to play against good moves one day. 

This only even matters at much higher levels.

I really don't understand what you are saying other than that you want to say something. It may be that you never played a cheater, or if you did you didn't know it. It doesn't mean that it doesn't matter, or that there are no cheaters, or whatever is your point if there is one.

Atos, get off my skirt already.  You're like a dog that won't let go.  Ever since I told you that you're illogical, you've been chasing around my comments to try to get your bitterness out. 

I'll spell it out for you:  I don't think those of us who are playing around the 1500 range need to bother with worrying about cheaters.  Waste of energy. Got it?  Good. 

 Atos - I dislike cheaters as much as the next guy/girl. Some people choose to ignore them even in their games. They don't question their opponents online ability versus reality. I (probably like you) value my rating and when I work very hard to maintain it or get better I take it personally when somebody tries to STEAL my points. Thieves are bottom feeders. However, I understood and I can acknowledge Afaf's choice to submit to the chance that she may play a cheater but she chooses to let it be.
