In this position(Four Knights Sicilian) computer analysis shows that i should recapture with the Queen at d6(Qxd6) leading to a position with the Knight at d6 and no Queens while i recaptured with the Knight leading to a position with the Knight at d6 and Queens..Supposing i want to develop an attack why would i want to exchange since it doesn't even bothers the black King's castling? Why would i want to relieve pressure?Do you have any advice? Cause this matter with the exchange of queens when playing White is unclear to me and i face it more and more lately...I mean when Black i have some obvious reasons to exchange sometimes(When white Queen is ''raping'' me f.ex.  :D )

I think the reasons for swapping queens instead of placing a knight straight on d6 are... 1. Blacks queen is going to be attacking the knight on d6, tying your queen down to its defence. 2. It's much quicker for you to castle queenside after the queen exchange. 3. Black has a terrible bishop at c8. The more pieces that come off, the more noticable a bad piece becomes. 4. The dark square weaknesses will be more obvious without the queen to cover them.

im not an expert and im probably to weak to judge, but in my honest opinion i would believe its not true. I think black has it much easier to liberate his bishop and get rid of his backward pawn if queens are exchanged, but then again there is a reason im a patzer
