Why does White not take the undefended rook at move 33?

Ok, the second after I posted this I saw that White would lose his rook after Bb6. Is that all, he simply didn't want to trade rooks? Any thoughts?

White is down serious material. By trading rooks on c5, he allows the bishop to activate with an extra tempo. That's basically the main reason as far as I can see.
